The Writers
Peter Facer, a third-year Music Student at Girton, is known throughout Cambridge as both one of the top orchestral musicians and also as a composer of classical and theatre music. In his first year, he wrote the score for his brainchild, "Girton - the Musical", and has written much incidental music for plays, most recently the ADC's production of "Peter Pan", the score for which was acclaimed by Varsity Newspaper as 'excellent'. Peter's other incidental scores include those for "Grimm Tales" and "Peer Gynt". Before coming to Cambridge, he studied at the Royal Academy of Music and will return there after graduating, having recently gained a scholarship. He has also recently won the Rima Allamuddin prize for composition. When not in the orchestra pit, he occasionally treads the boards, having appeared in "Oliver", "Misalliance" and "Macbeth - The Panto". Peter also holds an instrumental and choral scholarship and collects Faberge eggs.
Simon Burdus graduated from Cambridge with a degree in Geography and Management Studies. Whilst at Cambridge he wrote papers which are now used as core readings on the MBA and MST courses. He was also JCR President, JCR Ents Officer and ran Girton Ball. He became CUSU Entertainment Manager and TCS Editor after graduating before branching off and forming his own company Big Fish Enterprises Ltd. As an accomplished saxophonist and cocktail pianist he has vast experience of improvisation and musical composition. He has appeared in many musicals and plays during his time in Cambridge. He has recently admitted his undying love for The Crystal Maze and he hopes you enjoy the fruit of his loom.
